Ozelenění zpevněných ploch v Ostravě-Porubě

Na území městského obvodu Poruba najdete desítky asfaltových ploch mezi domy, které v minulosti nejčastěji sloužily jako hřiště pro míčové sporty. Jedná se o plochy vybudované v dávné minulosti, na kterých se již neodvratně podepsal zub času a jejich stav tomu odpovídá. Většinu z nich už nikdo nevyužívá. Popraskaný povrch prorostlý trávou navíc nevypadá zrovna dobře. Co s tím? Městský obvod Poruba se rozhodl požádat o dotaci, díky které by se některé z nevyužívaných ploch mohly zazelenit. A podařilo se!

Estetizace prostoru je určitě významným, není ale zásadním důvodem, proč se radnice pouští do této akce. Asfaltové plochy, do kterých se v létě opře slunce, vytváří tepelné ostrovy, které zbytečně zvyšují teplotu a působí jako výheň. Cílem a účelem projektu je toto omezit a zlepšit tak lokálně mikroklima, zároveň se zlepší zasakování srážkové vody, sníží se prašnost. Nová zeleň, která se neomezuje pouze na zatravnění, poskytne útočiště drobné fauně, čemuž se odborně říká posílení biodiverzity.

Na základě terénního průzkumu byla zmapována fakticky celá Poruba, kdy ve finále bylo vybráno 14 lokalit s plochami o celkové rozloze 4 599 m². Možnosti vyjádřit se k výběru těchto ploch využila celá řada obyvatel dotčených lokalit.

Ačkoli ozelenění na první pohled vypadá jednoduše, především finančně je to poměrně nákladná záležitost. Plochy v minulosti často vznikaly spontánně, kdy si místní před dům vylili beton a položili povrch. Po provedení průzkumných sond upřesňujících skladbu povrchů asfaltových hřišť u některých bylo nemilým překvapením, že betonové souvrství mělo i půl metru. Toto všechno se musí odstranit a nahradit kvalitní zeminou. Ozelenění bude realizováno zatravněním, které bude na vhodných místech doplněné také záhony trvalek, keři a stromy pro vytvoření přirozeného zastínění.

Předpokládané náklady představují více než dvaadvacet milionů korun a většina z nich, až 90%, bude pokryta z programu Životní prostředí, ekosystémy a změna klimatu financovaného z Norských fondů.

Greening of paved areas in Ostrava-Poruba

In the Poruba municipal district, you will find dozens of asphalt areas between houses, which in the past most often served as ball sports fields. These are areas built in the distant past, on which the ravages of time have inevitably taken their toll, and their condition corresponds to this. Most of them are no longer used. Moreover, the cracked, grass-covered surface does not look good. What to do about it? The Poruba Municipality applied for a grant to turn some of the unused areas into green spaces. And they succeeded!

The aesthetization of the area is certainly an important, but not the main reason why the town hall embarked on this action. Asphalt areas that receive the sun in summer create heat islands that unnecessarily raise the temperature and act as a heat sink. The aim and purpose of the project is to reduce this and thus improve the local microclimate, while at the same time improving rainwater infiltration and reducing dust. The new greenery, not limited to grassed areas, will provide a refuge for small fauna, technically known as biodiversity enhancement.

Based on a field survey, virtually the whole of Poruba was mapped and 14 sites were selected, covering a total area of 4,599 m². A number of local residents took the opportunity to comment on the selection of these areas.

Although greening looks simple at first sight, it is a relatively costly affair, especially financially. In the past, the areas were often created spontaneously, with locals pouring concrete in front of their houses and laying the surface. After exploratory probes were carried out to specify the composition of the asphalt surfaces of some of the pitches, it was an unpleasant surprise to find that the concrete layers were up to half a metre thick. This all had to be removed and replaced with good-quality soil. Greening will be carried out by grassing, which will also be supplemented in appropriate places by beds of perennials, shrubs and trees to create natural shading.

The estimated cost is more than twenty-two million Czech crowns and most of it, up to 90%, will be covered by the Environment, Ecosystems and Climate Change Programme funded by Norway Grants.
